On December 9th, the 9thHainan “Qiongzhou Cup” International Students Chinese and Talent Show Competition hosted by the Education Department of Hainan Province was held successfully. Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department of Education Department of Hainan Province Sibo Qin and Vice President of Hainan Normal University Sen Lee attended the opening ceremony and made speeches. Director of the Second Division of Overseas Chinese Affairs of the United Front Work Department of Hainan Provincial Party Committee Yuhua Zhu and Deputy Director Zhiqiang Zuo attended this competition by invitation.
Hainan University has made gratifying achievements, with all four of the international students participants won prizes. Among those there are two first prizes, won by Nigerian Yunhao Qi（NNABUIKE SUNDAY CHISOM）and Romanian Yuwu Su（WANGDI DAVID）respectively; also Nana（KHOMYTSKA ORYNA）from Ukraine won second prize; and Yi Joe（NKIRU JOY IKPEOHA）from Nigeria won third prize.
Hainan University has won the “Outstanding Organization Award” of this competition. Teachers like Chunrong Lai, Baiyi Deng and Xiaona Chen from the School of International Education won the “Outstanding Teacher Award” respectively.
The competition used “Chinese as a bridge to gather love at Qiongzhou” as theme, consisted two components of self-introduction in Chinese and language talent performance, as well as Chinese talent show. There are a total of 23 international students participated in the finals, they come from 9 undergraduate and higher vocational colleges of Hainan and presented their own Chinese level and talents on the same stage.
Until now, the Hainan “Qiongzhou Cup” International Students Chinese and Talent Show Competition has been consistently held for 9 years, it is the brand competition for the training of international students in Hainan Province. The competition is aimed at boosting multicultural communication and share, cultivating the enthusiasm of international students in Qiongzhou to learn Chinese culture and help more international students in Qiongzhou to become the friendly messenger of “culture spreading, friendship delivering”.
