Coral Ark Planning Conference: Ecosystem Conservation and Restoration Based on Natural Solutions


4月13日,海南大学海洋科技协同创新中心和南海海洋资源利用国家重点实验室(以下简称南海国重实验室)共同主办的“基于自然解决方案的生态系统保护与修复-珊瑚方舟计划”会议在海南大学国际学术交流中心举行。中国工程院院士、自然资源部第一海洋研究所研究员丁德文,海南大学科学技术发展院院长邹勇华,南海国重实验室主任高树基出席会议。

The Coral Ark Planning Conference was held on April 13th at the International Academic Exchange Center of Hainan University, co-hosted by the Hainan University Marine Science and Technology Collaboration Innovation Center and the State Key Laboratory of Marine Resources Utilization in the South China Sea (hereinafter referred to as MRU). Dewen Ding, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and researcher at the First Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources of China, Yonghua Zou, Director of Hainan University Research Development Office, and Shuh-Ji Kao, Director of the MRU, attended the conference.

会上邹勇华向各位与会学者嘉宾表示欢迎并介绍了海南大学协同创新中心的相关情况。高树基依据海南建设国家生态文明试验区要求以及可预见的海南自贸港伴生性风险,介绍了本次会议的目的。本次会议旨在融合多学科、多领域,借鉴海洋牧场与人工生态系统理论,探讨通过适当的人工干预改善环境质量,激活珊瑚礁生态系统自我修复的新途径。此外,本次会议将关注产学研一体化模式,探讨将生态环境导向的开发模式(EOD)应用到珊瑚礁系统保护与修复当中。

Yonghua Zou extended a warm welcome to present scholars and guests, and provided an introduction to the Hainan University Collaboration and Innovation Center. Shuh-Ji Kao stated the purpose of this conference, based on the requirements of building a national ecological civilization pilot zone in Hainan and the foreseeable and accompanying risks in the establishment of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Its purpose was to integrate multiple disciplines and fields, draw on the theories of ocean ranching and artificial ecosystem, explore new ways of improving environmental quality through appropriate artificial intervention, and activate the self-repair of coral reef ecosystems. In addition, this conference focused on the combination of industries, universities and research institutes, and explore the application of Ecological Orientation Development (EOD) to the protection and restoration of coral reef systems.

丁德文作题为“系统观念指引海岸带生态系统认知与实践”的主题演讲。他从近五年开展的工作、拟下一步开展的工作、蓝碳发展概括三个方面,系统介绍了我国蓝色碳汇研究的框架与实践。

Dewen Ding gave a speech titled “The Concept of System Guides the Understanding and Practice of Coastal Ecosystems”. His speech included three aspects: a summary of the work in the past five years, the plan for the next steps, and the development of the blue carbon sink (using the ocean to absorb carbon dioxide), systematically introducing the framework and practice of blue carbon sink research in China.

浙江大学海洋学院教授、博士生导师陈鹰,中国科学院南海海洋研究所研究员、博士生导师索安宁,海南大学海洋学院教授、博士生导师李秀保,广西大学海洋学院副教授、硕士生导师黄雯,南海国重实验室副研究员杜川军,海南大学生态与环境学院教授、博士生导师赵洪伟,自然资源部第三海洋研究所教授级高级工程师罗阳,南海国重实验室金融商务首席顾问余铭哲分别作题为“人工上升流技术与珊瑚礁生态系统修复”、“海洋生态系统修复关键方法探讨——以海洋牧场为例”、“珊瑚拼台技术及其在破碎化珊瑚礁修复中的应用”、“广西涠洲岛珊瑚礁生态修复实践”、“海南近海营养物质输运、源汇过程及其控制机制”、“陆海统筹污染防控与近海珊瑚礁保护”、“基于EOD模式的海洋生态环境综合治理实施路径”、“珊瑚方舟金融与商务价值探讨”的主题演讲。

During the conference, Ying Chen, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor from the Ocean College of Zhejiang University delivered a speech entitled “Artificial Upwelling Technology and Coral Reef Ecosystem Restoration”. Anning Suo, Researcher and Doctoral Supervisor from the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a speech entitled “Exploration of Key Methods for Marine Ecosystem Restoration - Taking Marine Ranching as an Example”. Xiubao Li, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor from the Ocean College of Hainan University delivered a speech entitled “Coral Mosaicking Technology and Its Application in the Restoration of Fragmented Coral Reefs”. Wen Huang, Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor from the Ocean College of Guangxi University delivered a speech entitled “Practice of Coral Reef Ecosystem Restoration in Weizhou Island, Guangxi”. Chuanjun Du, Associate Researcher from the MRU delivered a speech entitled “Nutrient Transport, Source-Sink Processes, and Control Mechanisms in the Nearshore Waters of Hainan”. Hongwei Zhao, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor from the College of Ecology and Environment in Hainan University, delivered a speech entitled “Terrestrial and Marine Coordination for Pollution Prevention and Control and Protection of Nearshore Coral Reefs”. Yang Luo, Senior Engineer from the Third Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, delivered a speech entitled “Implementation of Comprehensive Governance of Marine Ecological Environment Based on the EOD Model”. Mingzhe Yu, Chief Financial and Business Advisor of the MRU, delivered a speech entitled “Exploration of the Financial and Business Value of Coral Ark”.

本次会议由海南大学海洋科技协同创新中心和南海国重实验室共同发起,以“人工生态系统理论”为主轴,探索人海和谐生态文明的技术路径。

Initiated by the Hainan University Marine Technology Innovation Center and the MRU, the conference focused on the theory of artificial ecological systems that aims to explore the technological pathway towards a harmonious relationship between human society and marine ecosystems.

海南省自然资源和规划厅海域海岛处处长朱耀强,海南大学海洋学院教授王爱民,以及海南大学其它相关研究人员、师生代表等参与此次会议。
