I. Introduction of High-Level Talents

Embracing seven major research fields, namely, the "Free Trade Port Development and Institutional Innovation", "Ecological Civilization", "Culture and Tourism", "Southern Propagation and Tropical High-Efficiency Agriculture", "Marine Science and Technology", "One Health", "Information Technology", etc., Hainan University will introduce 1,000 high-level talents in the next three years. Among them include no fewer than 150 high-level academic leaders, and some 850 research backbones.

1. Talents with outstanding scientific research ability and excellent achievements in their own professional fields can apply for the corresponding talent level and salary through the one-to-one negotiation, which is specifically agreed upon according to the talents' scientific research performance over the past five years, their scientific research potentials and the target tasks within the appointment period.

2. Talents with outstanding scientific research ability may apply for a senior title when they join the university.

(II) Supportingbenefitsfor high-level talents in Hainan Province:

1. The Hainan Provincial Government will purchase commercial health group insurance of more than RMB 6,000 per year for talents (Category C and above) working full-time in Hainan, who will enjoy annual health check-up services.

2. Other corresponding levels should enjoy the services and guarantees in terms of settlement, children's education, spouse employment and medical guarantee.

3. Enjoy the preferential policy of exempting the portion of the actual tax of personal income that exceeds 15%.

II. Postdoctoral Recruitment

In the next three years, theuniversity intends to recruit more than 200 full-time postdoctoral fellows each year.We currently have 10 postdoctoral programs in Crop Science, Biology, Ecology, Information and Communication Engineering, Law, Business Administration, Marxist Theory, Materials Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.

(I) Main enrollment conditions

1. No more than 3 years after obtaining the doctoral degree;

2. The age of the applicants shall not exceed 35 years old, and the age of the applicants can be expanded to 38 years old (in the field of natural sciences) or 40 years old (in the field of humanities, social sciences and medical science) for doctoral candidates in disciplines with special or urgent needs.

(II) Major appointment entitlements

1. Remunerations. The base salary package for full-time postdoctoral fellows is RMB230,000/year before tax. Additional performance allowance may be offered by the cooperating mentor on a case-by-case basis.

2. Rental/purchase subsidies. Full-time postdoctoral fellows can apply for rental/purchase subsidy according to the relevant regulations. The current standard is RMB 3,000/month, which is provided during the tenure of appointment. The cumulative payment will not exceed 36 months, which is subject to the latest regulations of Hainan Province or the university.

3. Full-time postdoctoral fellows are entitled to social insurance, provident fund, children's nursery and school enrollment and other benefits according to the regulations of the university during their stay in the programme.

(III) Conditions of retention

With Hainan University as the supporting unit, those, who have actively declared and successfully won the approval of national projects, or won the bronze medal or above in the National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, or have achieved outstanding scientific research results, may apply to stay at the university as full-time faculty members. Outstanding postdoctoral fellows with outstanding research performance can apply for the corresponding talent level and salary according to the university's regulations when they stay at the university.

Founded in 1958 in Hainan Island, Hainan University is one of the first batch of national universities to construct the world-class disciplines. In scientific research, the university and the Chinese Academy of Thermal Sciences were approved to build "tropical crop biological breeding" National Key Laboratory, and Southeast University was approved to build "digital medical engineering" National Key Laboratory. It has one State Key Laboratory jointly built by Hainan Province and the Ministry of Education, one cultivation base of State Key Laboratory jointly built by Hainan Province and the Ministry of Education, 21 provincial and ministerial key laboratories, three provincial and ministerial collaborative innovation centers, 17 provincial and ministerial engineering research centers, 15 academician workstations, 11 provincial key research bases of humanities, philosophy and social sciences.
