On the morning of May 27th, 2024, Luo Jun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of the TianQin Center of Sun Yat-sen University, and chief scientist of the TianQin Project, delivered a lecture titled "The TianQin Project for the Space Gravitational Wave Detection" at Tianjiabing Lecture Hall in Haidian campus. The lecture was attended both online and offline by nearly 700 teachers and students from HNU's three campuses of Haidian, Danzhou and Mission Hills, and Chengxi Science and Education Park, and Yazhou Bay Science and Education Park. Luo Qingming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of HNU, presided over the lecture.
Focusing on TianQin Project, Luo Jun elaborated on the research background, progress and major tasks of space gravitational wave detection. He noted that the overall goal of TianQin is to take a lead globally in the research on space gravitational wave detection, providing strong support for the great breakthroughs to be made in the fields of physics and astronomy.

After the lecture, Luo had a face-to-face communication with the representatives of young scholars from the School of Information and Communication Engineering and the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering of HNU.
The participants included Wang Sheng, vice-president of the Hainan Association for Science and Technology, along with some related officials from this organization and other HNU leadership members, deans of Schools, chief of Offices and Colleges.
