In the recently concluded national final of the 10th National University Student Energy Economy Academic Creativity Competition (the Competition), Hainan University (HNU) team won one first prize and one third prize. Sun Peng, associate professor of the International Business School of HNU, won the title of “Excellent Instructor”, and Yu Yang, associate professor, won the “Contribution Award”. Hainan University was awarded the title of “Excellent Organization Unit”.

The team of graduate students (members include Huang Jinhui, Liu Liqun, and Chen Qingjia) from the International Business School won the first prize in the group for graduate students, and the team of undergraduate students (members include Cai Chenfei, Zheng Mingyu, Deng Jingwen, and Yang Liuwen) won the third prize in the group for undergraduate students.

The Competition, hosted by the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics, is a national-level competition organized by the Low-Carbon Development Management Committee. It was included in the list of national college student competitions by the Ministry of Education in 2023. The 10thCompetition was participated by nearly 100,000 students from 17,994 teams representing 561 universities across the country.
